WASHINGTON – American Airlines honored Ms. Bette Nash with a day full of festivities to celebrate her diamond jubilee– 60 years of dedicated service!
A huge crowd gathered at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Friday, November 3 where Ms. Nash was presented with diamond earrings from Tiffany’s and a $10,000 donation on her behalf.
She is the airline’s most senior flight attendant and many say the most devoted!
Ms. Nash’s love for the aviation industry began in her late teens. Her first flight was from DCA to Dayton, Ohio and while in mid-air, she fell in love with the charming and chic appearances of the crew members. In 1957, at age 21, she began her aviation career with Eastern Airlines– now American Airlines.
Having witnessed many changes in the flight industry– from tickets as low as $12 with no required reservations– Ms. Nash has seen it all. Her fondest era being the industry’s “golden age,” during which she flew with the Kennedys and served lobster and carved meats on platters
