DRAMATIC footage captures the moment an immense passenger plane was almost whirled across a runway as it attempted to land.
The Emirates Airlines aircraft, which had flown from Dubai, had just touched land in Dusseldorf, Germany on Thursday, before it flew into the midst of a powerful storm.
As the plane hovered above the tarmac, brutal wind speeds almost forced the carrier to tip over.
The footage published on YouTube by plane spotter Martin Bogdan captures the plane smoothly approaching the airport.
The pilot had safely manoeuvred the Airbus A380 until brutal wind speeds suddenly began to surge.
The film shows the plane dramatically swaying from side to side for several moments as its jostled by the powerful winds.
At one point the plane was almost tipped forwards, before making an instant jolt back on the ground.
Reports claim vigorous winds were swept across the airport at around 22 mph yesterday.
Eventually the pilot brings the huge plane under control after completing a crash crosswind landing.
Describing the film on YouTube, Mr Bogdan said: “I have filmed a few thousand crosswind landings at several airports in Europe within the past years, but this Airbus A380 crosswind landing was extremely hard and extraordinary.
“At first it looked like a pretty normal crosswind approach but after touchdown the pilots tried to align with the runway which looked pretty incredible.
“I have never seen such a tremendous reaction of an air plane after a touchdown. You can see that the pilots tried to align with the runway by using the tail rudder and luckily it worked out.”
The 500-seat Emirates plane is the largest commercial passenger aircraft in the world.
